Day 01: Delhi - Agra
Delhi-Agra After you have your breakfast, set out for Agra by road. Visit Sikandra on the way. After you reach Agra, find a suitable hotel to accommodate and check-in. Agra happens to be the city of Taj Mahal and was founded by Badal Singh in the year 1475. This was the city which was mentioned as Agraban in the epic of Mahabharat and was referred as Mathura’s sister city. It was the Lodhi kings who chose Agra on the bank of river Yamuna as their venue to set up the capital city. The Lodhis were defeated by Babur, who laid the foundation stone of the Mughal Empire over there.
Agra reached its glory during the period of Akbar, Jehangir and Shah Jahan. It became an eminent seat of art, culture, learning and commerce during this period and saw the best time during the rule of Shah Jahan.
The Taj Mahal, the dream in marble can very well be referred as the greatest assets of Agra representing Agra to the world. This magnificent memorial depicts the saga of love between Shahjahan and Mumtaj Mahal, to whom the building is dedicated. The Taj Mahal is one of the architectural splendors marked with great importance representing the style of art prevalent during the Mughal era. The skillfully assorted pieces of the Taj Mahal offer a reminiscence of its royal reminiscences. A walk through the narrow alleyways filled with the aroma of the exquisite delicacies from the Mughal cuisine also adds up a charm to the Agra tour. In other words Taj Mahal is the principal factor to assist Agra gain the status of a well known tourist destination in the tourist map of the world.

TAJ MAHAL
The Taj Mahal was established by Shah Jahan in memory of his loving wife Mumtaj Mahal (2nd wife of shah Jahan). The construction started in the year 1631 and was finally finished by 1651. It is included in the list of the Seven Wonders of the World.
AGRA FORT
The Agra Fort was founded by the great Mughal emperor Akbar in the year 1565. It is an elaborate construction build with red sandstone. The beautiful Pearl Mosque stands inside the Fort and is one of the most visited tourist spots in Agra.
After visiting the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort, you will be reasonably tired so have your dinner and spend the night at Agra.
Agra-Mathura
DAY 02: AGRA - MATHURA
The next day, take an early morning breakfast and leave the hotel and start for Mathura. After reaching Mathura board a room in the hotel. Relax for a while in the hotel and then set out for the sightseeing tour.
Shri Krishna Janma Bhoomi
This is the holy place, happened to be the venue where, Kansa, the maternal uncle of Sri Krishna had imprisoned his sister and brother – in- law. It was there Krishna was born about 5000 years ago. At present there stands a picturesque temple of Lord Krishna. The temple is adorned with various statuettes and figures unearthed from the surrounding regions.
Janma Masjid
This is one of the magnificent mosques built by Nabir Khan in the year 1661. The mosque is a great architectural work decorated with frail but fascinating minarets and plaster mosaics of varied color combinations.
Vishram Ghat
This is an attractive venue standing on a locale adjacent to the bank of Yamuna River. The place is considered as holy to the Hindus as it is been said that Lord Krishna took rest over here after the bitter fight with his uncle Kansa. Kansa was a tyrant king who misused his power to take hold of the kingdom belonged to his father by throwing him into prison and crushing the inhabitants of the city.
Dwarkadheesh Temple
The Dwarkadish Temple is located in proximity to the river Yamuna. The temple dates back to the year 1814. It is one of the most famous temples of the region. Several festivals such as, Diwali, Janmasthami , Holi and many more are celebrated in the temple. The temple is decorated elaborately in all this occasions. The beautiful carving works all over the temple worth mention. The followers of Vallavacharya are responsible for taking care of the temple.
DAY 03: MATHURA – HARIDWAR
Have your breakfast in the hotel and then leave the hotel. The cab will drop you at the railway station in Mathura, from where you will be catching a train for Haridwar. Our representative will pick you from the station and take you to Rishikesh by car.
The place is known both as Hardware and Haridwar. There are several temples of Vishnu and Shiva dispersed throughout the region. ‘Hari’ signifies, ‘Vishnu’ and ‘Har’ signifies ‘Shiva’. ‘Dwar’ means ‘gate’. This is the principal reason why the place being named as Haridwar or Hardwar. One will find the temple of Vishnu in Shree Badrinath and the holy temple of Shiva in Shree Kedarnath. There are numerous Hindu temples scattered throughout Uttarakhand and Haridwar had been the doorway to them for ages.
Rishikesh Rishikesh
This is also another holy city lying at the meeting point of the three districts belonging to Garhwal division. The city stands on the right bank of the Ganges. The place is encircled by the Shivalik range of the mighty Himalayas. The legend goes like that it was due to the hardship undertaken by Raibhya Rishi that made the God bound to appear before him taking the name ‘hrishikesh’. Thereafter the place came to be called as ‘Rishikesh’.
It is the point from which the the Hindus start their pilgrim’s progress to the char dhams, namely, the Gangotry, the Yamunotri, the Kedarnath and the Badrinath. They are the places visiting which the Hindus seek for removal of their sins. The picturesque Garhwal Himalays fall on the way to these holy destinations. The Sikh pilgrimage of Hemkund Sahib is also on the way.
Rishikesh is also great place to undertake adventurous expeditions. The brave at heart goes for trekking excursions to this region. It is great to have river rafting expeditions in the upstream of the river Shivpuri. It is also very adventurous to raft through the white waters of the booming Ganges during the months of October to May. The period from Feb 2 to Feb 7 is observed as the International Yoga week and is visited by several participants. The event takes place on the bank of the Ganges.
The eminent places of tourist attractions are, ram jhoola, bharat mandir, the divine life sociey, Lakshman jhoola, triveni ghat and the Shivananda Ashram.
Day 04: Rishikesh – Synachatti
Drive to Synachatti in the morning and stay there in a hotel for the night.
Day 05: Synachatti - Yamunotri – Synachatti
Take a fascinating trek to the Yamontri Temple. The distance is of about 14 kilometers. Visit the temple over there and then again trek for five kilometer to Janki Chatti. Stay in a hotel for the night.
YAMUNOTRI:
The Yamonotri temple is situated at a height of about 3235 meters above the sea level. The Yamonotri temple happens to be one of the Char dams. The origin of the Yamuna River is located over there and lies at an altitude of 4421 meters. The way to the Temple is very difficult but still the pilgrims conquer all the barriers and reach it. The place is known as the HunumanChatti and is about 5 kilometers from the JanakiChatti. After visiting the temple trek down wards for about 6 kilometers and reach JanakiChatti.
Day 06: Synachatti – Uttarkashi
Have a hearty breakfast and set for another trekking expedition for over 9 kilometers. There will be vehicles provided by us to drop you to Uttarkashi., where you will be staying for the night.
Day 07: Uttarkashi – Gangotri
In the morning drive to Gangotri. In the afternoon you will tour attractions like Gangotri Temple, Ghats and Bhagirathi Shila, the place where King Bhagirath had undergone immense penance.
TEMPLE GANGOTRI
According to local legends and beliefs, Lord Shiva was worshipped by Raja Bhagirath at the sacred stone, the site of the temple. Legend goes that Goddess Ganga first came down on this stone from heaven. The Pandavas also came here to pray for the death of their kinsmen after the battle of Mahabharata. In the 18th century, the gokha chief of garhwal, Amar singh Thapa, erected the temple.
Day 08 : Gangotri – Rudraprayag
Drive to Rudraprayag in the morning and transfer to the hotel. Spend the night there.
Day 09: Rudraprayag - Gaurikund - Trek to Kedarnath
Drive to Gaurikund in the morning and later make trekking trips to Gaurikund which is around 14 kms away. Pass through the scenic valley of Mandakini. The rambling greenery, lovely waterfalls and the cascading river offers a fantastic ambiance of trekking.
KEDARNATH TEMPLE
Kedarnath is a majestic site set amidst a lovely plateau bordered by snow capped mountains. The present temple, constructed in the 18th century AD by Adi shankaracharya was erected on the site of the temple that was built by the Pandavas. The temple’s interior and the assembly hall is adorned with sculptures and paintings of various Gods, Goddesses and deities from ancient mythology. There is a large statue of the Nandi bull in the front gate of the temple.
Kedarnath, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is wonderfully carved and dates back to centuries. The temple is made up of large and heavy stones in even shapes. There is a Garbha Griha in the temple which is used for worship. The mandap is used to accommodate the pilgrims and visitors. There is a concial rock formation in the interior which is worshipped as Lord Shiva in the sadashiva form. After resting at the Bungalow, go to the temple and witness aarti darshan.
Day 10 : Kedarnath - Gaurikund - Guptkashi
Go to the temple in the morning. Later in the day, make trekking trips to Gaurikund and drive to Guptkash. Spend the night at the hotel.
Day 11: Guptkashi – Joshimath
In the morning take a drive to Joshimath and stay in a hotel there for the night.
Day 12 : Joshimath – Badrinath
It will be nice to visit the temple of the Adi Guru Sankaracharya at Joshimath and then drive straight to Badrinath. You will be stayin in a hotel at Badrinath for the night.
BADRINATH:
The Badrinath Dham is one of the Char (four) dhams, the renowned Hindu pilgrimages. The temple lies at a height of about 3133 meters above the sea level. The temple is flanked by the two mighy mountain ranges known as the Nar and the Narayan. The impressive Neel Kanth peak forms the background of the temple. At one time the venue was covered with forests of wild berries and therefore it is known as the “Badrivan”. The santrum river of Alaknanda flows in front of the temple and there is also a hot water spring known as the Tapta Kund in nearness to the badrinath Temple.
BADRINATH TEMPLE
The Badrinath Temple is about 15 meters of height. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The shape of the temple resembles that of a cone and there is a small cupola of a filt, bull and spire. It is been said that the temple exists there from times even before the Vedic eras.
Day 13: Badrinath – Srinagar
In the morning, after having the breakfast in the hotel start for Srinagar . Stop on the way to have your lunch and keep on driving to Srinagar. Once you reach Srinagar, accommodate in the hotel and stay for the night over there.
Day 14: Srinagar – Haridwar:
Have the breakfast in the hotel and then set out for Haridwar. It will be better to take the lunch on the way. After reaching Haridware , check in the hotel and take ample rest and stay overnight over there.
Day 15: Haridwar - Delhi:
After you have your breakfast, check out from the hotel and start for Delhi. After reaching Delhi Airport, take a flight to your destination.
