Tourism Destination of Goa

Goa lies in the region called as the Konkan. It is bounded by the western state of Maharashtra in the north and the southern state of Karnataka from the east and the south. The Portuguese colony subsisted for about 450 years. After India's independence, Goa was annexed as the part of Indian territory in 1961.

The state of Goa is divided in two districts-North Goa and South Goa. The headquarter of the North Goa district is in Panaji and of the south district is in Madgaon. A district collector governs each district, who is an administrator appointed by the Government of India.

As a leading tourist destination, Goa offers so much to its tourists. The main tourist cities of Goa are Panaji or Panjim, Margao or Madgaon, Vasco Da Gama and Old Goa. Goa has many azure and picturesque beaches, called Anjuna, Calangute, Baga, Colva, Palolem, Candolim, Vagator and Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary.

How to reach Goa

By Bus
There are normal and tourist buses from Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Mangalore and other cities. You can reach to any major city of western India by any other medium and take a bus to Goa.

By Train
Indian Railway offers many express and other trains to Goa from the cities of Delhi, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Mumbai, Mangalore, Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam. A daily express train runs from Delhi to Goa.

By Air
Goa has daily flights to and from Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune (no return flight from Pune). There are flights twice a week to Chennai and Cochin. Most of the international flights reach via Mumbai, while there are some other airlines flying directly to Goa's Dabolim Airport. There are charter flights to London and Germany and international flights to Kuwait and Sharjah two times a week.
