Wildlife In Ranthambore

Wildlife In Ranthambore Ranthambore National Park provides a natural habitat to a plentiful and several species of wildlife. The Ranthambore Wildlife Sanctuary is a heaven for nature lovers. The dry deciduous forests and dense growth of vegetation all over the forests of Ranthambore National Park provide the greenery to the herbivorous animals to graze year round. These well-fed herbivores form the prey for the predators like Leopards and the Royal Bengal Tiger.

Naturalists have recorded more than 30 species of fauna and over 300 species of avifauna as permanent residents of Ranthambore Wildlife Reserve. The animals of Ranthambore National Park are habitual of the dry deciduous forest environment. The wildlife in Ranthambore National Park includes many species of herbivores such as Chinkara or Blackbuck, Chital or Spotted Deer, Gazelles, Nilgai and Sambhar. The mammal population is of the Indian Hare, Mongoose, Porcupines, Sloth Bear and Wild Boar. Various species of monkeys seen in Ranthambore National Park include Hanuman Langurs or Common Langurs and Macaques. Bats, Cats,Wildlife In Ranthambore Civets and Flying Foxes can be spotted at night. The omnivorous species include Jackals, Jungle Cat, Leopard and Tigers. The most common reptiles are the Monitor Lizards and many species of snakes like the Cobras and Kraits. Crocodiles can be seen in the swamps and lakes of Ranthambore. The Ranthambore National Park has the largest population of the herbivorous deer and antelope. There around 36 Tigers and 40 Leopards at Ranthambore.
